Why We Chose This Product

• Dermol 500 is an antiseptic wash (soap substitute).
• It contains moisturisers that add extra moisture to the skin.
• Dermol 500 also contains chlorhexidine and benzalkonium chloride. These are antiseptic ingredients, which help remove bacteria from the skin. This helps prevent skin infections in eczema. 
• Dermol 500 can also be used for people with eczema who haven't had skin infections (as all people with eczema are at risk of skin infections).  
• It can be used in the bath or shower.
• It is soap free and non-foaming.
• Dermol 500 comes as a pump dispenser, this is useful as it prevents bacteria from contaminating the bottle.
• This product contains no fragrances or colourings, so it is less likely to cause an allergic reaction (contact allergy) to the skin.
• The main ingredient is paraffin. Paraffin is useful in eczema, as paraffin is not an allergic material. 
• Suitable for adults and children 

Cautions

• Use in the bath can or shower be a slip hazard
• Dermol 500 contains paraffin which is flammable. Over long periods moisturisers can build-up on fabric (clothing, bedding etc), making these materials flammable. Washing clothing and bedding may reduce this build-up but not totally remove it.  
• Dermol 500 does contain some preservatives so there is a small risk of allergic reaction. Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed.
• Benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine can sometimes irritate the skin. We therefore advise NOT to use this as a moisturiser (always wash it off after using). 
• Avoid contact with the eyes.

Directions

Apply onto the skin, leave for 5 minutes, and then wash off in the shower or bath

Benzalkonium Chloride 0.1%, Chlorhexidine Dihydrochloride 0.1%, Liquid Paraffin 2.5% and Isopropyl Myristate 2.5%, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Macrogol Cetostearyl Ether, Phenoxyethanol, purified water.
